McCain Foods and Arcos Dorados recognize Argentine potato producers

McCain Foods and Arcos Dorados have announced the results of the second edition of the Regenerative Agriculture Challenge. The initiative aims to promote and recognize the adoption of regenerative practices among potato producers in the Balcarce region of Argentina, focusing on soil health, efficient input use, and production system resilience.

In this edition, which ran from November 2025 to June 2026, Potato Growers secured first place, followed by Agropecuaria La Gándara in second, and Luciano Garrido and Ricardo Alberto Strada in third. Special recognition was also awarded to Agropecuaria La Gándara for the La Gringa lot and to Finca Va Da Ju for the Ojo de Agua lot.

Key environmental achievements noted include the reduction of the Environmental Impact Coefficient (EIQ) at Agropecuaria La Gándara through the use of lower-impact fungicides and disease alerts (DSS). Additionally, Finca Va Da Ju recorded lower greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing low-emission fertilizers and adjusting dosages based on soil nutrient content. The evaluation was audited by Carbon Group using McCain’s Regenerative Agriculture Framework.
