McConaughey and Harrelson star in Apple TV comedy ‘Brothers’

The new Apple TV Original series ‘Brothers’ features Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The comedy is loosely based on long-standing media rumors regarding whether the two actors are biological brothers.

The plot follows the Harrelson family as they visit McConaughey at his ranch in Austin, Texas. The central conflict arises when McConaughey’s mother suggests that the two longtime friends might actually be half-brothers, prompting Harrelson to investigate the potential connection while McConaughey considers a run for governor of Texas.

Regarding the future of the show, there is currently no official information on a second season. Matthew McConaughey noted that serious discussions about a renewal have not yet occurred, stating, “Talking about Season 2 is kind of like writing your acceptance speech before you’ve won the award.”
