McDonald's announces One Piece and SpongeBob SquarePants Happy Meal collaboration

McDonald's has announced a global Happy Meal collaboration featuring a crossover between the anime series One Piece and the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. The campaign is scheduled to roll out sequentially starting in August 2026.

The promotion will debut in Australia and New Zealand before expanding to over 60 countries, including the United States, Canada, and Italy. Notably, the collaboration will not be released in Japan due to previous concerns regarding food waste and crowd management issues during major releases.

The collection includes 13 unique toys that mash up characters from both franchises. Featured designs include SpongeBob as Luffy, Patrick as Zoro, Sandy as Nami, Mr. Krabs as Jinbe, and Plankton as Usopp, among others.
