McDonald's India X account allegedly hacked by intern claiming unpaid wages

The verified McDonald's India X account was reportedly compromised on September 6, leading to a series of unusual posts made by an individual claiming to be an intern. The posts alleged that the individual had not received their stipend since late 2025 or May, depending on the specific message, and claimed unpaid dues exceeded 60,000 rupees.

The posts named a supervisor, Amit Joshi, as being responsible for the non-payment. The individual behind the messages claimed they had been forced to take on additional jobs in customer support and delivery to make ends meet, while also mentioning financial struggles related to trading memecoins.

Following the initial wave of allegations, the account posted a brief message stating, “Thanks, I have claimed fees!” before the posts were deleted. McDonald's India has not issued an official explanation regarding the security breach or the validity of the claims.
