McDonald's Italia marks 40 years with expansion plans
McDonald's Italia is approaching its 40th anniversary in the country, marking significant economic and professional milestones. According to a study by Althesys, the company's activities have generated 29 billion euros of shared value for the Italian economy, encompassing employment, tax revenue, and domestic supply chain purchases.
CEO Giorgia Favaro announced at the Rimini Meeting that the company plans to expand significantly by 2026, with the projected opening of approximately 60 new restaurants and the creation of 5,000 new jobs. She emphasized the importance of maintaining accessibility and quality to meet evolving consumer habits.
Reflecting on the company's history, the journey of entrepreneur Amedeo Avenale is highlighted in a new book titled ‘Ketchup nelle vene’ published by Mondadori. Avenale began his career in 1986 as a crew member at the first Italian McDonald's in Rome and has since grown to manage ten locations and approximately 550 employees, receiving the international Golden Arch Award.
