McDonald's Korea supports military personnel with surprise visits and discounts

McDonald's Korea has launched the ‘Happy Burger Surprise’ initiative, a social contribution program designed to provide meals and emotional support to community members and those in need. As part of this campaign, the company recently visited soldiers of the Republic of Korea Army's 23rd Security Brigade, who are responsible for coastal defense along the East Sea.

To create a meaningful experience, family members and friends of the soldiers appeared in disguise as McDonald's crew members to deliver meals, an event captured in new TV and YouTube advertisements. This project was prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense over a five-month period.

In addition to the surprise visits, McDonald's Korea announced a promotional discount for military personnel. During two specific periods—August 31 to September 6 and September 29 to October 5—active-duty soldiers, officers, and military employees can receive a 50% discount on Big Mac sets. To access the discount, eligible personnel must register verification numbers from official military portals via the McDonald's app.
