McDonald's manager faces backlash for disciplining elderly employee in dining area

A McDonald’s manager in Fort Myers, Florida, is facing significant online backlash after a video surfaced showing her disciplining an elderly part-time employee in the restaurant's dining area.

Recorded by a customer, the footage shows the manager standing over the employee at a dining table, pointing at paperwork and discussing performance issues such as a messy lobby and uncleaned drink stations. The employee, seen wearing a uniform and yellow sash, appeared to listen and sign documents while in full view of other diners. The manager subsequently fired the employee, reportedly due to cleaning standards not being met.

Social media users on platforms like X and TikTok have criticized the manager's conduct as unprofessional, arguing that disciplinary actions should be handled in a private office rather than in front of customers and staff.
