McDonald's Mechelen signs cleanliness agreement with city

McDonald's Mechelen has signed a ‘Litter Charter’ with the city of Mechelen to maintain cleanliness in the area surrounding its restaurant. The establishment, located at Rode Kruisplein, is the largest in Belgium and the fifth largest in Europe.

As part of this commitment, the company has funded additional trash bins in the vicinity and manages their collection using a cargo bike. Staff members also perform daily rounds to collect litter from identified hotspots to mitigate the environmental impact often associated with fast-food locations.
