McDonald's opens new restaurant in Pálava protected area

McDonald's has opened its 144th restaurant in the Czech Republic at a rest stop on the I/52 road near the village of Perná. Located within the Pálava Protected Landscape Area, the restaurant serves the busy route between Brno and Vienna.

To comply with nature conservation regulations, the facility features specific landscaping, including prescribed trees and shrubs, and limited outdoor lighting to minimize environmental impact. The restaurant offers 93 indoor seats and 62 outdoor seats with views of the Pálava region. Facilities include a McDrive, an electric vehicle charging station, and a Playland for children.

The opening provides local employment, with approximately 40 staff members currently employed, including residents from Perná and surrounding municipalities. Management noted that while environmental restrictions limit the visibility of the building, they are exploring alternative ways to attract visitors, such as local signage.
