McDonald's partners with Red Bull for US energy drink launch

McDonald's US is partnering with Red Bull to launch its first-ever energy drink, the ‘Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer’, starting August 17 at locations nationwide. The beverage features a Red Bull base mixed with blue raspberry syrup and freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces. Customers can opt for a ‘Red Bull Zero’ base for a lower-sugar version or purchase an 8.4 oz can.

In addition to the energy drink rollout, McDonald's is expanding its ‘crafted soda’ menu. New options include a ‘Vanilla Swirl’ feature, which adds vanilla flavor and a cold milk foam to specific sodas. The company is also increasing its selection of lower-sugar beverages across its existing soft drink lineup, which includes Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Dr Pepper.

Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald's US Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, stated that the expansion follows positive consumer feedback during initial testing phases. The move aims to meet growing demand for diverse, occasion-specific refreshment options.
