McDonald’s Romania launches McHappy Day to support Ronald McDonald Houses

McDonald’s Romania is launching the second edition of its McHappy Day national fundraising campaign, running from October 12 to October 18, 2026. The initiative aims to support the Casa Ronald McDonald România foundation, which provides essential services to families with hospitalized children.

The foundation operates three houses located in Bucharest, Timișoara, and Iași. These facilities offer free accommodation, warm meals, essential product packages, and psychosocial support to help parents stay close to their children during medical treatments.

Contributions can be made through several methods: for every Happy Meal purchased, McDonald’s will redirect 1 leu to the foundation. Additionally, customers can donate directly in restaurants, online, via SMS, or through a recurring monthly donation. This year’s campaign also introduces the ‘Prieteni de suflet’ collection, featuring four plush toys, such as Tobi the capybara, with profits from their sale directed to the foundation.
