MCF Energy advances Erlenwiese exploration in Germany

MCF Energy Ltd. has provided an update on the technical evaluation and licensing status of its Erlenwiese project located in the Rhine Graben, Germany. The company has completed an initial evaluation of 3D seismic data using Paradise machine-learning software, which has identified several promising exploration targets.

While the company noted direct indicators of hydrocarbons, it emphasized that the work remains in the exploratory stage. Current seismic interpretations, machine learning results, and Amplitude-versus-Offset (AVO) analyses do not confirm the presence of reserves or resources; drilling is required to determine if economically producible quantities exist.

Regarding licensing, the mining authority in Hesse granted a one-year extension for the Erlenwiese license until September 13, 2026. However, MCF Energy allowed the original concession to expire on September 13 and is now applying for a smaller concession area. This new, smaller area is intended to focus technical efforts on the identified exploration targets while reducing the total concession size, subject to regulatory approval.
