McLaren auctions five historic Formula One racing cars
McLaren has authorized international collector car dealer Tom Hartley Jr. to sell five historic Formula One cars from its heritage collection. The vehicles, which span from 1991 to 2023, are in running condition and are estimated to be valued between $7 million and $13 million each.
The collection includes two MP4-6A models from 1991 featuring Honda V12 engines. These cars are associated with Ayrton Senna’s third and final world championship season and were also driven by Gerhard Berger. Also included is a 2012 MP4/27A previously driven by Jenson Button and tested by Lewis Hamilton.
Representing more recent eras, the sale features the MCL35 used by Lando Norris during his podium finishes in 2021, and the MCL37A from the 2023 season, which secured victories in Singapore and Japan. One of the vehicles is notably linked to the upcoming ‘F1’ film starring Brad Pitt.
