McLaren, Audi, and Red Bull conduct Pirelli tire tests in Mugello
McLaren, Red Bull, and Audi participated in two-day Pirelli tire tests at the Mugello circuit to prepare for the 2027 season. The testing sessions, held at a track not currently on the F1 calendar, focused on evaluating various tire compounds.
During the first day, Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Liam Lawson (Red Bull) conducted tests. Piastri tested all three compounds from C1 to C3, while Lawson focused on the C2 mixture. On the second day, Lando Norris (McLaren), Ajumu Iwasa (Red Bull), and Nico Hülkenberg (Audi) continued the evaluations. Hülkenberg completed 121 laps, recording a best time of 1:24.012. The next round of testing is scheduled for September 15 and 16 at Imola, featuring Ferrari and Racing Bulls.
