McLaren introduces technical updates for Austin Grand Prix
McLaren is preparing to introduce technical updates at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin to address recent performance declines. Following a period of difficulty where the team struggled to maintain momentum after victories in Hungary and the Netherlands, the team aims to improve braking reliability and resolve performance issues through modifications to the car's underbody.
Technical Director Rob Marshall noted that the Austin circuit is physically demanding due to high-speed curves and aggressive kerbs. The team is also facing increased pressure in the constructors' championship, as Red Bull has narrowed the gap to within seven points of the McLaren cars. Recent challenges included an unsuccessful update package in Baku and internal tension following a collision between teammates during the Singapore Sprint race.
