McLaren to end 750S supercar production in 2027

McLaren has confirmed that production of the 750S supercar will conclude in 2027. The announcement marks the end of a decade-long development cycle that began with the introduction of the 720S in 2017.

The 750S, which debuted for the 2024 model year, is an evolution of the 720S platform, featuring approximately 30 percent new or modified components. It is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing roughly 740-750 horsepower. The model has served as the foundation for other derivatives, including the track-focused 765LT and the limited-production 788HS.

Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, McLaren’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the 750S “will leave behind an extraordinary legacy,” noting its embodiment of the brand’s focus on performance, technical innovation, and design.

The discontinuation comes as McLaren undergoes a strategic transformation. The company has introduced a new logo and is expanding its portfolio, with plans to develop a high-performance SUV to compete with models like the Ferrari Purosangue. There are also indications that the hybrid Artura may eventually see its production cycle end to make way for a new generation of vehicles.
