McLaren to sell five historic Formula 1 cars
McLaren Racing is selling a collection of five fully functional Formula 1 cars through specialist dealer Tom Hartley Jnr. The collection spans 32 years of racing history, featuring models used or tested by legendary drivers including Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Lando Norris.
Notable vehicles in the sale include two 1991 MP4/6A models tested by Senna, a 2012 MP4/27A driven by Jenson Button, and a 2021 MCL35M used by Lando Norris. The most recent offering is the 2023 MCL37A, which was used by Norris and also driven by actor Brad Pitt during preparations for the film ‘F1’.
Each car will be individually prepared by McLaren before being delivered to the new owners. While official prices have not been released, estimates suggest individual units could be valued between 5 million and 10 million pounds sterling.
