McLaren unveils McL 6GT manual supercar concept
McLaren has unveiled the McL 6GT, a concept supercar presented during Monterey Car Week that serves as a tribute to the M6GT project originally envisioned by founder Bruce McLaren in 1969. The new model marks a significant departure from modern trends by featuring a V8 engine, rear-wheel drive, and a manual gearbox—the brand's first manual transmission in road cars since the McLaren F1 in 1992.
The McL 6GT utilizes a full carbon fiber construction and draws design inspiration from the 1960s Can-Am era, incorporating vertical headlights and a Kamm-style rear. While currently a concept, McLaren has confirmed that the McL 6GT will enter limited production in 2028.
