Md. Rashed Khan declared DUKSU General Secretary

The University of Dhaka Syndicate has officially declared Md. Rashed Khan as the General Secretary (GS) of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUKSU) for the 2019 term. This decision comes approximately seven years after the original election.

The appointment follows the cancellation of the previous winner's student status. Golam Rabbani, who originally won the GS position in the March 2019 election with 10,084 votes, had his MPhil student status revoked after a university investigation proved it to be invalid. Following the Academic Council's decision to cancel his status, the Syndicate moved to seat the runner-up.

Md. Rashed Khan, who received 6,063 votes in the 2019 election, was confirmed as the new GS during a Syndicate meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor A.B.M. Obaidul Islam. Rashed Khan expressed his gratitude via social media following the announcement.
