MDB candidates receive significant Brazilian electoral fund allocations

In Brazil, candidates from the MDB party are receiving significant allocations from the Special Campaign Financing Fund (FEFC) for upcoming elections. In Acre, federal deputy Antônia Lúcia received R$ 2.95 million, the highest amount among the party's nine candidates for the Chamber of Deputies. This funding is notable as Lúcia has been convicted of embezzlement and faces legal challenges regarding her eligibility, with the Supreme Federal Court (STF) handling her criminal case.

In Maranhão, Senate candidate Roseana Sarney has received R$ 3 million in party resources, including R$ 1 million paid to Vanilla Produções de Filmes Ltda. for marketing services. Other MDB candidates, such as Hildo Rocha and Cleber Verde, have also been allocated substantial funds, receiving R$ 2.35 million and R$ 2.5 million respectively.
