Médina Baye holds funeral for scholar Cheikh Mouhamadou Macky Ibrahima Niass

In Médina Baye, Senegal, a large crowd gathered on Friday to attend the funeral of Cheikh Mouhamadou Macky Ibrahima Niass, known as Papa Macky. The son of El Hadji Ibrahima Niass, the deceased was a prominent Arabic teacher and religious educator within the Fayda Tidjaniya community.

Niass passed away in Morocco while undergoing medical treatment. He was laid to rest in the family mausoleum at the Zawiya. The funeral service was led by the General Khalife, Cheikh Mahi Ibrahima Niass, and attended by various religious leaders and diplomatic delegations, including the Moroccan ambassador to Senegal and official representatives from Nigeria and The Gambia.

During the ceremony, the Khalife praised the deceased for his dedication to religious education and urged followers to remain committed to spiritual orthodoxy and the Sunna.
