Médio Tejo hosts ZêzereArts and Silenzio arts festivals in July
The 16th edition of the ZêzereArts festival began on 13 July and runs until 2 August, offering 15 free concerts across the Médio Tejo region. Highlights include a performance by the Orquestra Sinfónica Jovem in Entroncamento’s Museu Nacional Ferroviário, a concert of Prokofiev’s Pedro e o Lobo at the Teatro Municipal de Ourém, and a large choral‑symphonic program at the Convento de Cristo featuring works by Copland, Coleridge‑Taylor and Thomas.
From 16 to 19 July, the Silenzio – Encontro de Artes event returned to Torres Novas for its second edition. The multidisciplinary programme presented about 43 works from more than 25 countries, spanning short films, animation, comedy, poetry, literature, music, video games and an interactive museum exhibit. Tickets were priced at €5, aiming to foster dialogue between national and international creators and broaden public access to contemporary art.
