Mödling: Suspect extradited from Dubai after body found in wall

A man living in Dubai has been extradited to Austria following the discovery of a body encased in concrete at a house in Münchendorf, located in the Mödling district. The deceased is believed to be a 99-year-old woman who had been reported missing.

The discovery occurred in late May after police requested fire department assistance to open a door at what was likely the woman's secondary residence. Scent dogs led investigators to a wall at the entrance to the basement, where the body was found embedded in concrete.

The suspect, the victim's son, is currently in custody under investigation by the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office. While an autopsy is still pending to determine the exact cause of death, authorities have not yet confirmed suspicions of murder. Instead, the investigation is focusing on potential serious fraud regarding social benefits, as there are suspicions the body may have been concealed to continue receiving the woman's pension.
