MDR offers simultaneous TV and livestream for July 4, 2026 broadcasts

Germany’s public broadcaster MDR scheduled two separate programmes for 4 July 2026 with live simultaneous transmission on television and online. The comedy show “Olafs Klub Best Of 2024” aired at 23:15 on MDR’s TV channel and was streamed in real time via the MDR‑Mediathek and the Joyn platform, with a repeat broadcast scheduled for 8 July.

Earlier the same day at 02:10, MDR aired the short film “What If” by Lars Nagler. The film was also available live through the MDR‑Mediathek, though no further TV repeat was planned. Both events illustrate MDR’s use of parallel broadcast and streaming workflows, including rights‑management and multi‑device delivery for smartphones, tablets and smart‑TVs.
