MEAN volunteers present accounts of war experiences in Ukraine

Members of the European Movement of Nonviolent Action (MEAN) are hosting events to share firsthand accounts of the conflict in Ukraine. These presentations focus on the experiences of volunteers who traveled to cities like Odessa to engage with local civil society and administrations.

One event features Adriano Stabile, who participated in a MEAN mission in Lviv. His work, ‘La notte dell’Europa’, draws from reflections made during extreme conditions, including time spent in bunkers and on trains amidst missile sirens. The discussions aim to address broader themes of peace, democracy, and shifting international political balances.

Another presentation involves Giovanni Corbo, Letizia Antonello, and Daniela Osculati, who will discuss the mission to Odessa. They will present ‘Adesso Odessa – Costruire la pace in Ucraina’ and the ‘Odesso Odessa’ document, which was co-developed with Ukrainians. The sessions highlight the role of citizens and associations in peacebuilding and nonviolent action.
