MEAN WELL to present smart lighting and energy solutions in Hong Kong
At the 2026 Hong Kong Autumn Lighting Fair, MEAN WELL plans to showcase integrated solutions for smart buildings, focusing on power supplies, lighting control, device connectivity, and energy management. The company will utilize its ‘2+1’ product strategy, featuring DALI-2 and KNX product lines alongside Matter-based wireless connectivity and green energy storage solutions.
Denny Hu, General Manager of MEAN WELL Guangzhou, stated that LED drivers are evolving from basic electrical components into ‘smart nodes’ for data exchange and energy management. This shift aligns with a growing global smart lighting market, which was estimated at USD 21.42 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 25.77 billion in 2026.
Complementing these hardware advancements, digital twin technology is emerging as a critical tool for smart building management. By creating virtual replicas of physical structures using real-time data from IoT sensors and Building Information Modeling (BIM), managers can simulate various scenarios to optimize energy consumption and reduce operational costs without the need for physical trial and error.
