Meccha Chameleon indie game sells 5 million copies on Steam in under ten days

The indie hide‑and‑seek game Meccha Chameleon, developed by solo creator lemorion_1224, has become a viral sensation on social media platforms such as TikTok and X. Within a week of its Steam launch it surpassed 3 million copies sold, and the figure rose to 5 million copies in less than ten days. Priced at $5.99, the game supports two to ten players who hide as white avatars and paint themselves to blend with the environment. It recorded a peak of 231,000 concurrent Steam players and holds an 80 percent approval rating on the platform.

Meccha Chameleon is currently available only on PC through Steam and has not been released for Xbox or other consoles. The developer has promised a free new map to maintain community interest.
