Meccha Chameleon sells 15 million copies, earns Google Easter egg

Indie party game Meccha Chameleon, created by solo developer Lemorion, has sold more than 15 million copies within a single month, making it one of the year’s biggest successes on Steam.

Google has added a custom Easter egg to its search results for the game; typing “Meccha Chameleon” displays hidden chameleon icons in both light and dark modes, echoing classic tricks like “do a barrel roll.” The title continues to receive rapid updates, including a new Egypt‑themed level and a Hikakin Museum level that honors Japanese YouTuber Hikakin, spurring a broader internet trend where players paint or hide chameleon figures in real life.
