Mecha Chameleon adds Cube character and Osaka map in new updates
Indie developers LEMORION and HAGANEIRO released the Steam game Mecha Chameleon on June 10, 2026. The title quickly became popular, surpassing 7 million copies sold by June 22. On June 22 the developers rolled out version 1.7.0, which introduced a new official map titled “Osaka”. The map features locations inspired by the Japanese city, including a shop called “Umi Douraku” and other recognizable signage, and added a reporting feature and a Discord link fix. A later update on June 25 (version 1.9.0) added a new playable character called “Cube”, a slightly square‑shaped avatar that differs from the previously available white human silhouettes. The update also let players select characters before game start, view the chosen map in advance, increased the hunter's shotgun delay, and addressed several stability issues. Both updates expand the game’s hide‑and‑seek mechanics, where players paint their characters to blend into the environment.
