Mecha Chameleon hits 3 million sales, 200k concurrent Steam players

The PC‑only multiplayer hide‑and‑seek game Mecha Chameleon was released on Steam on June 10, 2026. Within five days it sold 1 million copies (June 15), 2 million (June 16) and passed 3 million copies the next day, setting a rapid sales pace praised by players.

Co‑creator Haganeiro confirmed the entire title was built in just two months, with additional work from the previous project extending the total effort to four‑to‑five months. On June 18 the developers issued version 1.4.0, adding a new “Sugarland” map that resembles a candy‑land setting, and introducing a server‑search feature that shows whether a game is in progress. The update followed a surge in community activity, with Steam concurrent users topping 200,000 and more than 6,800 user reviews highlighting the paint‑your‑body camouflage mechanic.

The game is priced at ¥790 (approximately $5.90) and continues to receive content updates, with further maps scheduled for release later in the week.
