Mechanical Ride Failure Strands Dozens at Chalco Fair in Mexico

A mechanical ride at the patronal fair in Chalco, State of Mexico, suffered a malfunction that left twelve riders suspended several meters above the ground for roughly half an hour. Emergency crews from Protección Civil, local firefighters and public safety officials arrived, used specialized equipment to reach the ride, and safely lowered all occupants.

No injuries were reported, though some individuals experienced nervous distress and received medical attention on site. Authorities have halted operation of the attraction pending a safety inspection and verification before any possible reopening.
