St. Johannes Baptist Mechernich hosts summer church exploration event

The family mass circle of the St. Johannes Baptist parish in Mechernich is hosting an ‘Entdeckerkirche’ (Explorer Church) event during the summer holidays. Designed for children of primary school age and their families, the program allows visitors to explore the parish church independently.

Guided by a character named ‘Hannes,’ a small mouse illustrated by Oliver Peters, participants can visit 16 different stations throughout the church. These stations include locations such as the baptismal font, the ambo, the altar, and the stained glass windows. The activity involves reading, crafting, painting, and solving puzzles to find a final solution word. Families can participate daily between 9:00 and 17:00.
