Mecka AI nears $500M valuation in Sequoia-led funding round
Mecka AI, a startup specializing in human motion data for robotics training, is reportedly nearing a new funding round led by Sequoia Capital at a valuation of approximately $500 million.
The company aims to address the shortage of physical-world data required to train humanoid and general-purpose robots. Unlike synthetic or teleoperated data, Mecka’s flagship product, Egoverse, utilizes custom sensors and smartphones to capture natural, first-person human activity. This egocentric approach allows robots to learn from unscripted, real-world movements.
Co-founded by Josh Gao, Mogen Cheng, Jason Chong, and Duy Nguyen, the startup has seen rapid momentum. It recently completed a $60 million round led by Framework Ventures, which included participation from Menlo Ventures, SV Angel, and Kindred Ventures. Mecka AI has projected an annual recurring revenue run rate of $100 million for 2026, supported by contracts from various robotics labs and AI frontier model teams.
