Mecklenburg-Vorpommern subsidizes rural all-day school partners
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has introduced a new subsidy program to support all-day school offerings in rural areas. The initiative aims to offset travel costs for external partners, such as sports clubs, music schools, fire departments, and social institutions, that provide educational services to schools.
Under the new regulation, partners traveling a one-way distance of at least 15 kilometers can receive a subsidy of five euros per session. For distances of 50 kilometers or more, the subsidy increases to ten euros. This measure is specifically targeted at schools located in rural areas as defined by the state's regional development program. The Ministry of Education stated that the funding will be processed through existing contract procedures without requiring a new application process.
