MECTS becomes first PPP company to list on Mozambique Stock Exchange
MECTS S.A., a Mozambican technology company, has become the first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) entity to list on the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM). The company specializes in digital systems for business modernization, most notably managing the Electronic Sealing and Transit Cargo Tracking System (SEERC) in partnership with the Mozambique Tax Authority.
The listing follows a process initiated in June after the company registered its shares with the Central Securities Depository. This move aligns with Mozambican legislation regarding PPPs and business concessions, which allows domestic investors to participate in the capital of such companies through the stock market.
Financial data indicates that revenues from the MECTS concession rose by 155.6 percent in the first half of 2026, reaching 49 million Meticais. The BVM aims to expand its market presence, targeting an increase in listed companies from 16 to 30 by 2028 and raising market capitalization to 35 percent of the national GDP.
