M.E.D.A. reports accessibility and safety issues at Foggia's Villa Comunale

Miriam Ventura, the Puglia regional representative for the European Movement for Differently Abled People (M.E.D.A.), has raised concerns regarding the state of the Villa Comunale playground in Foggia. The report highlights damaged equipment, non-functional fountains, worn or missing anti-trauma flooring, and significant architectural barriers.

Ventura emphasized the lack of inclusive equipment for children with disabilities, noting that access to safe play is a fundamental right under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. She has formally requested that the Municipality of Foggia conduct an urgent technical inspection, secure dangerous structures, and implement a redevelopment plan that includes accessible equipment.

If the municipality fails to provide a response regarding timelines and resources, Ventura stated she will launch a public petition within 15 days to involve local families and disability associations.
