Medan City Government optimizes 2026 budget realization

The Medan City Government is working to optimize the realization of its 2026 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) to ensure a balance between revenue and spending. This effort aims to guarantee that development programs and public services are implemented according to plan.

Acting Regional Secretary Erfin Fachrurrazi led a monitoring and evaluation meeting on Friday, October 16, 2026, to track budget absorption and identify necessary follow-up actions. The meeting included regional apparatus leaders and sub-district heads from across Medan.

Mayor Rico Tri Putra Bayu Waas has expressed specific concern regarding the prevention of a large Budget Surplus (SILPA), noting that the previous year saw a surplus of approximately Rp592 billion. Officials are being encouraged to improve budget realization to ensure that planned activities meet their targets and support regional development.
