Medan City Government Suspends Lurah Aur Amid Abuse Allegations

Mayor Rico Tri Putra Bayu Waas of Medan ordered the temporary suspension of Lurah Aur of the Medan Maimun sub‑district after a special audit by the city’s Inspectorate flagged alleged illegal levies. Camat Rizki Hari Adam Lubis issued the suspension decision, citing the Civil Servants Discipline Law (PP No. 94/2021) to ensure an objective investigation.

In a separate case, ASN Syerly, a civil servant in the Medan Marelan district, was examined by the same Inspectorate for a possible breach of the city’s code of ethics after a public comment. Inspector Erfin Fahrurrazi reported indications of a violation and recommended a light disciplinary sanction, emphasizing the need for integrity and professionalism among municipal staff.
