Medan Ex-Police Officer's Wife Found Dead in Bathroom Shooting
Police in Medan, Indonesia, are investigating the death of a 35‑year‑old woman, the former wife of a police officer, who was found shot dead inside a bathroom at a house in the Helvetia district. The victim had visited her ex‑husband, identified as Brigadir IH, to seek reconciliation. During the visit, the officer's service‑weapon bag was found open and the firearm missing.
Witnesses, including Brigadir IH and the victim’s nine‑year‑old child, reported that the victim said, “Maafkan saya” before a single gunshot was heard from the bathroom. Autopsy results showed a head wound from a firearm discharge, gun‑shot residue on the victim’s hands, and no residue on the officer. No other injuries or signs of violence were detected.
