Medan Mayor issues health advisory and creative initiatives

Medan Mayor Rico Waas has issued several advisories and initiatives to address local community challenges. Following reports of deteriorating air quality in the city, the Mayor urged residents to reduce outdoor activities, wear masks, and increase water consumption to mitigate health risks.

The city government is coordinating with various regions to distribute masks and provide information to students and the general public. Additionally, Mayor Waas met with the Medan Creative Economy Coalition (Koekraf) to encourage creative communities to combat misinformation and hoaxes through positive campaigns. To support these groups, the Medan City Government plans to revitalize the Medan Cultural Park and provide dedicated spaces for creative expression in public service centers.
