Medan Mayor Rico Waas attends police leadership transition and disaster relief efforts

Medan Mayor Rico Waas recently participated in several regional activities focused on leadership transitions and social welfare. During a ceremony at the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumut) headquarters, the leadership of the Deputy Chief of North Sumatra Police (Wakapolda Sumut) transitioned from Brigjen Pol Sonny Irawan to Brigjen Pol Naek Pamen Simanjuntak. Mayor Waas emphasized the importance of maintaining strong coordination and synergy between the local government and police to ensure security and order in Medan.

In a separate initiative, the Medan City Government highlighted social solidarity following recent weather-related disasters. The Medan Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) raised and distributed 50 million IDR in aid to residents affected by tornadoes that struck nine districts, with the most significant impact felt in Medan Johor and Medan Amplas. Mayor Waas noted that such collective action is essential for addressing urban challenges and supporting citizens in need.
