Medan Mayor urges local organizations and cultural ambassadors to deliver tangible results

Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Bayu Waas has issued calls for local organizations and youth ambassadors to focus on tangible community impact and deep cultural understanding.

During the inauguration of the Medan Regional Leadership Board of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI Muda) for the 2026–2031 period, the Mayor urged the new leadership to move beyond administrative formalities. He emphasized that the organization should implement measurable roadmaps every three to nine months to address social, educational, and employment issues in the city.

In a separate engagement with the winners of the Putra-Putri Kebudayaan Kota Medan (Medan Cultural Ambassadors), Rico Waas stressed that cultural representatives must possess comprehensive knowledge of local history, culinary arts, and traditions rather than focusing solely on performance. This comes ahead of their participation in provincial-level competitions and the upcoming Regional Cultural Week scheduled for October 2026.
