Medef organizes presidential candidate economic debate at Roland-Garros

Seven French presidential candidates are scheduled to participate in an unprecedented economic debate organized by Medef during the Rencontre des Entrepreneurs de France (REF). The event, held at the Roland-Garros courts, serves as a critical credibility test for the contenders ahead of the upcoming election.

The participants include Gabriel Attal, Raphaël Glucksmann, Marine Le Pen, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Édouard Philippe, Bruno Retailleau, and Marine Tondelier. Under the theme of ‘courage,’ the candidates will address specific economic concerns raised by five SME leaders, who will draw upon findings from a national consultation involving 66,000 entrepreneurs.

Key issues expected to be addressed include high taxation, competitiveness barriers, and the need for economic stability and visibility amidst geopolitical uncertainty and rising public debt. Medef President Patrick Martin emphasized the importance of placing the economy at the center of political discourse, noting that the event has seen a significant increase in interest compared to previous years.
