Urban development and environmental projects advance in Colombian cities

Various Colombian municipalities are implementing urban and environmental management projects. In Medellín, the 'Mi Río, Mis Quebradas' program has completed its first four hydraulic works—La Honda, La Aguadita, El Pelón, and La Cabuyala—to mitigate flood risks and improve community safety through canals and retaining walls. Additionally, the city is utilizing citizen culture initiatives, such as murals and volunteer workshops, to promote environmental care and waste management.

In Bogotá, the local administration has launched a pilot project in the San Victorino sector to improve waste disposal. This involves the installation of stationary containers to prevent trash accumulation on street corners and optimize cleaning services in the commercial district.

In Villavicencio, authorities recovered several plots of land in the La Madrid neighborhood that were being illegally occupied. These areas are designated for future public infrastructure projects, including road expansions, parks, and green zones.
