Medellín authorities find 20-year-old man dead in suspected drug house

A 20-year-old man, Keiner Chalá Rúa, was found dead in a residence in the Moscú neighborhood of Medellín. The victim, who had been missing since Monday, was discovered on Thursday afternoon after neighbors reported a strong smell of gas and chemicals coming from the property.

Authorities found Chalá Rúa with five gunshot wounds to the head. During the inspection of the home, investigators discovered a pink substance, identified as ‘tusi’, in a pan on the stove and in a container on the refrigerator. Police also seized a scale and small hermetic bags, which are being investigated to determine if they were used for the preparation and sale of narcotics.

The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, leading officials to believe the homicide occurred several days prior to the discovery.
