Medellín Expoartesano 2026 gathers 600 artisans
The Expoartesano fair returns to Medellín from 10 to 19 July 2026, featuring more than 600 artisans from all 32 Colombian departments and Indigenous communities. Organisers expect around 40,000 visitors and project an economic impact of roughly 9.7 million USD, creating over 2,000 jobs and generating sales estimated at 6.8 billion pesos for participants.
Past editions of the fair have reached over 6,000 artisans and produced sales exceeding 46 billion pesos across venues in Medellín, Miami and Madrid. The event includes workshops, talks, live demonstrations of traditional techniques, gastronomy, music and curated tours, and promotes digital artisan courses to engage younger creators.
Marcela Cuéllar, manager of Artesanías de Colombia, emphasised that the fair helps artisans earn up to 65 % of their annual income, reinforcing the cultural heritage and economic stability of craft families across the country.
