Medellín hosts academic forum for Quibdó and Chocó reconstruction
The RE Quibdó & Chocó 2026 academic forum will take place on November 7 at Universidad EAFIT in Medellín. Organized by the Fundación Color de Colombia with support from Urbam, EAFIT, and Codechocó, the event brings together 20 experts from four universities and BanRepública.
The meeting aims to address critical themes regarding the reconstruction and development of Quibdó and the Chocó region following an earthquake emergency. Key topics include housing solutions, risk management, urbanism, reconstruction, and financial mechanisms such as the ‘Plan Marshall and Miracle Fund’ and ‘Works for Taxes.’
This annual initiative serves as a platform for academia, journalism, and civil society to collaborate on technical knowledge and public discourse. It is part of a broader effort to support the region's development through 2026-2030, following a similar model used for RE Buenaventura.
