Medellín's Feria de las Flores 2026 draws 328,000 visitors, spurs $60 M economic boost and 400+ weekly Avianca flights

The Feria de las Flores in Medellín will run from 31 July to 9 August 2026, with organisers expecting more than 328,000 visitors and hotel occupancy near 75 %. The event is projected to generate an economic impact of about $60.6 million. To accommodate the surge in travel, Avianca will operate more than 400 weekly flights to Medellín throughout August, linking the city with over 25 domestic and international destinations. Avianca Cargo, which holds roughly 60 % of the city’s flower‑export market, will move about 27,000 tonnes of flowers from Medellín in 2026. The Medellín Metro will extend service for the festival, with lines A and B running until midnight on 31 July and additional bike‑ and pet‑friendly hours on 1–2 August. These transport and logistics enhancements aim to support tourism, the flower‑export industry and the city’s cultural heritage during the ten‑day celebration.
