Medellín ranked tenth globally for urban mobility
Medellín has been ranked as the tenth best city in the world for urban mobility by the international publication Time Out. The recognition is based on the physical and fare integration between the Metro de Medellín and its Metrocable aerial cable car network.
The system's efficiency is highlighted by its ability to optimize travel times and reduce costs for families by avoiding multiple fares between the north and south of the metropolitan region. The Metrocable operates six strategic branches: Lines H, J, K, L, M, and P.
Additionally, the ranking noted the ‘Cultura Metro’ established in 1995, a community dynamic that maintains infrastructure and high cleanliness standards. In 2025, the system recorded 310 million trips, with 83% of users providing positive feedback regarding the service.
