Colombia 2027 Budget: Mass transit funding to rise 28.1%

The Colombian Association of Capital Cities (Asocapitales) has analyzed the 2027 National General Budget project currently being processed by Congress. Despite an overall 2.1% decrease in national investment, resources for mass transit are projected to grow significantly.

Specifically, national co-financing for mass transit is expected to increase by 28.1%, while funding for rail and metro-railway infrastructure is slated to rise by 76.1%. Asocapitales noted that these increases are vital for capital cities, which concentrate much of the country's urban population and economic activity, providing much-needed stability for long-term mobility projects.
